Newbie's First Post - 190E Electrical Anomalies
 

Got a 1988 190E 2.6 L with varyious elec-related probs:

1) interior dash lights - kaput!
2) HVAC fan intensity (4 speeds) can only click/slide to 1st and 2nd of 4 positions.
3) Windshield wiper won't return to the "home" position when turned off; it's usually at the 11:00 position, rather than 9:00. For some reason, it never makes it to the 6:00 position, either. <<--- poor attempt at humor, but I'm serious about the 11:00 part.

If, by a strange alignment of planets, these problems are related, someone here can be the first to shout: eureka!

I think Item 2 is related to the mechanical switch simply stuck because of a lever blockage. I can't seem to access the switch to fiddle with it. Must I take out the entire dash?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
