W114 key codes
 

I just purchased a '70 w114 from my local junk yard. Have no keys. Is there a location on the car where the key code can be found? I know some cars have the code stamped on the backside of a door handle. Does MB do this? Do I need to go to a dearler with the VIN?

Dealer or indi mechanic can get you keys from the VIN number (actually the chassis serial number on this car). Should be about $18 each.

I don't know if there are key numbers anywhere but the long gone factory shipping sheet the original owner got with the car.
