i posted this a few weeks back but did not get enough response and i still have the problem, so i am going to try again...
i was adjusting the vertical focus of the headlights using the knob right above the headlight back cover. The knob would turn to adjust the beam down but it would not turn back up. The passenger side headlight is now too low that i have to use the high beam all the time. i am now tempted to disassemble the headlight assembly to see what is wrong. any suggestions? if i need to disassemle the headlight, is there a handy procedure to follow? thx, emmy 1991 560 SEL |
My experience with headlight adjusters is that the bolts get rusty from the heat, and they thread into plastic, to they often strip. With some creativity, you can probably repair this.

hi emmy,
are euro headlights a consideration for you? i recently did this conversion and i love them. the lighting pattern is far superior, the brights brighter. they look pretty sweet too. just a thought... ------------------ mckeige@netscape.net *1992 300e *euro lights *clear turns *white/grey blue guts *98 Explorer *goodrich all terrains |
Just to make sure, you probably paid $430 for these euro lights from bekkers right? (I'm looking for a better deal)

(I'm looking for a better deal)

hi scotty, actually i did not get my lights from beckkers.i looked every place i could before i bought them.i mean i did my homework. if you want to upgrade your amber turn signals [to clear ones]or if you want the "euro" look of the clear ones. beckkers does have the best overall pricing on the combo[lights & turn signals]. they are not cheap and not everyone can go for it, they make SO much differnce on my 300e. if & when you get them make sure you have the"city lights" hooked up also, they are very *****in'. take care. ------------------ mckeige@netscape.net *1992 300e *euro lights *clear turns *white/grey blue guts *98 Explorer *goodrich all terrains |
