140 300SE Climate Rest Problems
I am having trouble with turning off or disabling the Rest feature on a 93' 140. Car was brought to me with a leaky Evap & faulty blower regulator. After reassembly everything is working well except the Climate Rest feature keeps kicking back on after key is shut off. The push-button seems to be responding but I can't get the Rest feature to stay off but only for a couple of seconds & it kicks back on. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the Rest feature. Is it possible that there is a glich in the Push-button ?? What is the proper procedure for turning off the Rest feature ??
After further checking I feel the only souloution is a new push-button unit. After talking to other techs that have seen this same problem the push button solved the battery drain. Unless the customer wants to pull the #18 fuse everytime he gets out of the car. I just wan't this nightmare to go away! Last edited by CHG211; 09-24-2004 at 05:51 PM. |

I've never experienced this particular problem on my w140, but might take a look at http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_AAC.html for help. Jim offers some excellent information on Air Conditioner Diagnostics for your model.
Good luck. Russell
