I want to say 40 grams...

We replaced my front bearings just for the piece of mind.. Pretty cheap job... seeing as the ones in the hubs were original and still in decent shape.

I used some valvoline synthetic bearing grease rated for disc brakes and we just packed them the old fashioned way. No excess was visible and smeared a little in the hub and cap..No grease leakage or issue since we did it 6 months ago.

Surf showed me the hammer and punch method..

use good quality punches... not the harbor freight ones... then use the old race to tap in the new race

I wanted to try the dry ice method.. use dry ice on the races so they shrink from the cold

I've been trying to glean bits and pieces from all of the postings, but would love it if someone could give me a step by step...with photos of course There was a posting about rear bearing replacement, with photos every step of the way...yes please!

I found the parts for the job, but now need the brains Thanks in advance!

I rebuilt an old H-D four-speed transmission, and to install the main bearing race, the FSM says to heat the case to 300F and cool the race to 0F using an oven and a freezer. The race dropped right into the hole and rotated easily. Once the case cooled, the race was in there very tight.
