Before I screw up my 560 motor
I was draining the block of coolant in preperation of pulling the heads and despite the warning on the 126-chassis maintance CD (job 01-415 page 3), I confused the block drain with a lateral crankshaft bearing cap bolt.
Is there anything special I need to do (other than place this bolt in the hole and turn clockwise) in order to properly put this bolt back in without causing crankshaft problems? Thanks in advance! Scott |

I did that once. I just put the bolt back and tightened it up. No problems to date. Don't ya just love those blasted drains!

Thanks!
Not really! Even though I had my catch pan and everything, I still wound up with a face full of glycol! Yuck its worse than oil! I appreciate the reply! I'm glad I'm not the only one to do this oopsie... my car already has enough problems with needing a top end rebuild with only 70k miles poor beastie... Thanks again! Scott |
