The central locking pump from my 1986 190E 16v keeps running for about 1 minute before switching off.
It happens both ways: after locking and after unlocking. Does it stop running by itself, or is there any timing relay involved? Thanks for any help. Robert |

It is timing out, you have a leak.

Within the pump there are switches that turn the pump off after proper pressure is arrived at. If there is a leak this never happens and as Donnie points out the pump eventually times out and shuts itself down.

The leak has been found, and we fixed it.
It was at the actuator from the rear right door. Everything -except the ignition lock- is working properly now. regards, Robert |
