97' SL600 722.6 5spd code P0743

Ok I was getting code P0715 and the transmission was going into limp mode. So I replaced the Conductor Plate. Now I get code P0743 and the car is once again in limp mode with the MIL on. I had the codes cleared from the ETC, but it instantly resets the same code. When I was replaceing the conductor plate I had trouble removing the PWM solenoid valve and had to use a pair of pliers to gently remove it from the valvebody. I suspect that it was damaged when I removed it and is cuasing the trouble code I am getting. Can anyone confirm this for me? I have ordered it and plan to install it tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone else has had a similiar problem and could point me in the proper direction is this isn't the cuase.

Reading engine codes doesn't mean that you will find the TRUE trans problem. YOU need to have transmission codes read from the trans!

PO 743 means the trans torque-converter lock-up isn't working properly (electrically).

Fixed it

When I replaced the conductor plate, I accidently bend one of the tabs on the 3/6y6 solenoid. That caused the PO743 code. I replaced the solenoid and had my friend at the dealer clear the ETC of all codes and everything is working fine. It is really important to have those codes cleared from the transmission computer as it will remain in limp mode until you do.
