I went to the autostore and bought 6 of these for the 300 and they said this is what is recommended (Made in Germany) for around $1.50 each.
If this is not good, then what type of plugs are recommended? ------------------ '89 420 SEL '90 300 SEL '68 Olds 88 Convertible '84 300 SD (sold it) |
matt,
Do a search we have talked about this a lot. Go copper for anything before 92-93. Why? Because the smaller spark just can not be handled by the 102 and 103 engines. ------------------ yal 88 230E (W124) euroheadlights, clearcorners, smoke/red tailights 98 e420 sport replicas |
There has also been talk of Platinum plugs degrading and leaving chunks of platinum floating around. My buddy sells Benzes and had a client who had to spring for a new motor....MBZ wouldn't pick up the tab because he'd installed Platinum plugs.
Just a word of caution... ------------------ All the best, Michael 500E 300TE |
If platinum plugs are no good due to the size of the spark, are "spit Fire" or similar split electrode prugs better than regular copper plugs?
Just curious on peoples thoughts. Thanks ------------------ Dean 90' 300CE 80' 300D 80' 300SD |
