W126 Power seat switch question
1985 380SE, passenger side seat switch without memory. Can the same or close model/year passenger side switch with memory be used? I know, or think I know, that the memory function requires an additional module under the seat, but I would like to know if the non-memory wiring will/can be mated to one of these. Also, if they can be married up, can I remove the memory buttons so the non-memory escutheon plate can be re-used? I have found more memory replacement switches than non, so would like to know if they can be interchanged.

in a nutshell:no. The wiring harness is differant insinde the door for the memory seats, due largely in part to the computer underneath the seat. If your fairly electronically inclined, and have alot of time on your hands it is possible to take apart and clean the old one. Be prepared to search for some missing ball bearings tho, theres like 50 inside of the switch and they all are spring loaded to a certain extent. Good luck,

Thanks...I barely missed a great buy on EBay, due to my computer screwing up and I was actually hoping to hear that...I'm OK with disassembling and cleaning the old switch, lots of info on that, and it's the passenger side anyway, not critical.
