Have a curious problem with a 1992 300SD(140 body)...at times the engine will surge about 200-300 rpm with the pulse of the turn indicator. Been to the dealer once over this..he says my alternator is ok.He said there was an update to a different bulb for the alternator light in the dash and replaced it.
The problem doesn't occur all the time and it seems to be much worse with the headlights turned on. This surging at redlights at turns is driving me crazy....any ideas before I go back to the MB dealer again and tell him to try again...? |

This engine has electronic idle control and is capable of upping the idle a little if the amperage draw of the car exceeds the alternator output. I would think along those lines.
