Help for removing 300CE Seats

I have both the EPC and the "CD", but I cannot figure out how to get the plastic dress pieces off of the seats at the bottom so I can remove the bolts holding the seats down. The rear, inner bolt is visable, but plastic trim is covering the other three. I have a 1992 CE....If the CD covers the removal of the trim, I sure can't find it!
Can anyone help?

I'm not sure which plastic piece you're talking about - I think they varied a bit from year to year. I've found one of the keys to getting seats out is to leave them plugged in as long as possible so you can move them forward and backward to get access to the 4 bolts. As far as the plastic cover pieces go they just snap on, and theoretically snap off. The method I've used on a number of occasions is to wiggle and pry them back and forth with increasing pressure until they break, and then curse and throw them away. You find that you don't miss them unless you're really a nut about originality. Or another more sensible method would be to go to the dealer, see if they have one in stock, and inspect the snap points so you have a better idea of how they are attached.

No idea if your car is the same as mine, but here's what I found:

Slide the seat all the way back so you can expose the front of the seat rail. There are two plastic covers over the front end of the seat rails, they pry up at the front and have a tongue that extends back along the seat rail. At the end of the tongue is a plastic hook that slides into one of the holes on the rail, you have to raise the front of the clip and wiggle it around a bit to free the rear hook.

Once the clip is off it's a simple matter to remove the front bolts, slide the seat forward and up so you can get the bolts from the back. I now found it best to slide the whole seat back so that I could release the electrical connections from the very front - they just unplug.

Hope this helps in some way

Kevin

All the plastic parts snap on and off. Just look at them very closely. If you break anything, don't worry. They are all still available, and all approximately $10 a piece. If your car interior is Mushroom (code 265), I know the part numbers.

Thank all of you for your help!...I finally got them

off and the seats out...

Do you have any pics you can post?

I have taken out the passenger seat, but not the drivers.

Would you like me to take pics of removal of drivers seat? Or tell me what you would like and I will do so. I have a digital camera.

If mushroom means beige, then I need those numbers :)

Specifically I'm looking for the two lower panels on the right hand side front seat, that's driver to me and passenger in LHD land.

Hope you can help and hope you can recommend somewhere that will ship them overseas.

cheers

I don't want you to go out of your way. Maybe next time you remove either the driver's or passenger seat you can take pics. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I'm unable to view to links for some resason. I'll try again later. Maybe it's a server issue.

300 E seats

Not sure if my 300E seat is same but wanted to know if anyone knows how to take out the electrical boxes under the seats. The control box that the wires plug into. Is it easy to take out? Can it be done w/o removing seats?

Thanks, Jeff
