Emergency Brake And Window Switch
I have a 91 Mercedes 190E, AUTOMATIC WITH A 2.3.
I just bought it and went to set the emergency brake. I can't raise the lever. Is there a trick to this? Also the right rear window switch on the console didn't work. I bought a new switch and it still don't work. I know it's not the fuse, I checked that first. Any ideas to what that could be? Thank you for your help in advance. |

Window
For the window problem, I would check for power at the door. Pop the door panel off, pull the plug on the window motor, hookup the multimeter to the plug, push the switch. If there is power at the plug, then the problem could be the window motor. If not, chase it back to the fuse box, or switch.

if you're asking what I think you're asking, the release for the emergency brake is below the light switch, at least it is on my RHD model. I presume its the same on LHD cars.
may sound like a stupid question to owners but hey, it happened to me first time I drove a 124 and I have to explain how to do it, in detail, every time I hand my car over to a parking valet. otherwise they just run the car back round with the brake on

Emergency Brake And Window Switch
Thank you both and yes, SIMMO, it sounded like a dumb question, but I don't have a owners manuel with me and had to ask.
