it stopped AGAIN!!!
 

i really have to be happy it dies in town. i was 35 miles away at one point.

on the hwy i had the cruise on and felt it surging occassionally. got home got my stuff and headed out again with the dog.

2 miles from home i mash the go pedal and nothin! i know that feeling and about that thought the assist in the steering went away and i muscled it around the corner. called the shop to get it towed.

i tried to turn it over but it just wouldn't light. exhaust started to smell rather funky also.

yes there is fuel. it is between half and the white stripe before reserve. oil is good. temp on the hwy was about 90c.

there was fuel around the fuel cap laying in that shallow. i think that has been happening ever since the shop drilled the 1/8 hole in the cap so it could breathe. if you remember someone clamped off the vaccuum line.

while i was cranking the tow guy noticed that there was a loose seal. it comes from the tank/canister /thingie on the passenger side of the car that the hose from the valve cover connects into. it is unsealed at the metal line on the bottom of that tank/canister/thingie(can't find it in the book).

ARRRRRRRRGH!!!!

i still have less than 700 miles in my posession and two mystery trips to the shop.

again the thought comes.......keep the chrysler van. keep the grand am. forget diesel, biodiesel and veggie.

with the vaccuum line clamped off for some reason do you think the other lines may be crossed? could that be the problem with the loss of power? Each tank got to about the same point before the car stopped.
