where the he#% is the OBD II connector on 98 500SL

check engine light is on, i have an Actron scanner but cannot find the damn connector. I thought the feds said it has to be accessible without tools..???
i even loosened the black panel under the dash and cannot find it...

help please....

I can't answer for your specific model but i have to c class cars and they are both in the same place. If you are sitting in the drivers seat there should be a small hatch that pulls down just above your right knee. Good luck.
