Hard starting E420
 

I recently upgraded my 300E for a 1994 E420 with 80k on the clock. The only problem is occasional starting problems. It will just crank but not fire even after several seconds of cranking. I've tried cracking the throttle a bit and sometimes that helps. I have always gotten the engine started eventually, but am concerned about the abuse to the starter motor and Heaven knows what else. Ideas?
