Front turn signal problem - help
My front turn signals worked fine until I decided to change the bulbs (changing from blue to amber).
I couldn't get the bulbs out, so I had to pull out the plastic piece (which contains the prongs) from the socket. Had to do this to both sides. After getting the bulbs out, I couldn't get the new ones in, they wouldn't turn and lock into place, so I had to heat the plastic assembly inside by placing it near the fire place for a minute or two. Finally got the bulbs in. Hooked everything back up. The turn signals worked when the headlamps and parking lamps were off but didn't when they were on - this is what it appeared to be at first. But after looking closely, I found out that they do work but the filaments are now reversed. There are 2 filaments in the bulb (a bright one and a duller one). The bright one is suppose to be the turn signal and the duller one is suppose to come on as the parking lamp, but now it is reversed! Now the bright filament is now the parking light and the dull filament is the turn signal. Therefore, the bright parking filament drowns out the turn filament and you can't notice it all when the parking/headlamps are on. What is the solution to this. I believe I hooked everything back correctly, as the bulb can go in any way and there is only one way to put the plastic plug piece (which has 3 metal prongs and a plastic one) back into the socket. Any ideas, much appreciated.
