dip stick tube removal m116 engine
I am attempting to remove the front cover on my '84 380SE to replace the chain guides. The FSM says to drive out the dip stick tube. I tried to tap it out with a brass hammer but it seems that this tube is very secure in the aluminum upper pan. Is there a trick to driving this thing out? Do I need a seal or something when I put it back in? Can I put this thing back in if it is this hard to remove?
Thanks for any help. |
I was able to remove it once I applied a little heat to the aluminum upper pan.
