'93 300TE rear hatch supportreplacement
 

The rear hatch on my '93 wagon will not stay up in cold weather. The shocks are worn out. I have removed the rear coverings and have exposed the square headed pins that look like they support the forward end of the shocks but they are retained by a small hook. I can't seem to find any way to unfasten the forward end of the shocks. I assume you release the forward end first and then the shock pulls out with the rear hatch (tailgate) when you raise it higher. Any help on this problem??? Thanks

digging this one back up.. 1991 300te here and I'm stuck at the same place. Can anyone assist?
