Reset the FSS (Little Wrench)?

I took my 2000 ML320 in to my local Mercedes dealer for service when the FSS (little wrench) symbol appeared in my odometer (about 68,000 miles). When I told them to perform all required services except change the engine oil and oil filter, which I now want to do myself, they wouldn't reset the FSS indicator. Now every time I start the car I see it flashing, warning me that service is overdue. Is there any way to reset it yourself? Thanks.

It's usually in the owner's manual...just look there.

Not sure why it matters...

...but I've found that it works IF the doors are shut when you perform the operation as indicated in the owner's manual.

Yes, that's true, I believe it is one of the steps in the instructions in the E series manual.
