C36 Amg Asr
hello , i have a 1995 C36 AMG, I never liked the ASR, it just wouldnt ever fully shut off, but out of the blue the ASR button on the dash has stopped working the !lite and the ! lite never blinks anymore in the instrument cluster either. I like it better but just kinda worries me that something is broken, its kinda sluggish at low RPM's now and takes a second before it revs up and shoots away.
Does anyone know whats going on and a good place to start tracking down the broken parts?? thanks Dave 190E 2.3-16v 190E 2.3-16v C36 AMG 911 IROC replica Last edited by daveCT; 11-20-2004 at 05:03 PM. |

First step would be to ask HFM, EA/CC/ISC, and ASR what they think of the situation. Proceed based on their replies.

thanks for the reply steve, but what is HFM, EA/CC/ISC?? are you referring to the codes. the check engine light is off now and the code that came out of it was a PO400 code,, egr system flow code, and it has been off now for some time now

Actually I wasn't to concerned with codes in the DM (diagnostic module). I was more interested in what HFM (hot film ? engine management system) and specifically EA/CC/ISC (electronic accelerator/cruise control/idle speed control) had to say. ASR (acceleration slip regulation) also is part of it.
Only DM sets the light but codes in all of them can have DM speak up. It is most likely there are fault codes set. Most likely they have to do with various throttle switch incongruities. Lots of possibilities and that is why knowing what they have to say is all important as a starting point.
