Can Tiny Radiator Leak Be Fixed?

I just noticed an extremely small "weeping" leak just under the upper radiator hose on the '88 300E. There was some white "crud" buildup in the area - looked somewhat like battery acid crud. It does not appear to be leaking from the hose. Coolant level is normal. 1. Has anyone ever heard of this? 2. Is there anything I can apply to seal it, or should I just replace?

Identify the leak completely and repair accordingly. If the radiator is leaking they are not repairable. If the hose is just loose tighten it or replace it if all the compliance is gone from the rubber. Note the necks fall off those radiators regularly and cook many of the motors in the process don't take a chance replace the thing.

I just checked again...it's coming from the corner of the upper inlet. Just weeps a few drops. The hose is dry. I will replace the radiator ASAP. What is a fair price for the job?

Thanks,
Ray

Rad is about $300 or so, figure an hour or two for labor, this is an easy job.

Get the coolant changed at the same time if it's been a while.

Do not delay, please -- a broken nose nipple will cost you a head if you don't catch it instantly -- by the time the temp sensor shows overheat in a dry head, the head is toast.
