1985 190D 201 body sunroof - HELP !!
OK, I have posted about this twice in the past year, being Colorado I was fine with the non-response. However, I am sellign my wife's 190D (2.5 Diesel) to a fellow list member in St.Louis, MO where the sunroof is a necessity and I'd like to fix this before delivering it to him.
So, any ideas on how to get to the sunroof (I do have the original MB manual) when it is stuck closed ? The knob in the trunk does not open it. Is it possible to pop the headliner section off the sunroof and do something ? I am normally not this anal, if it were EBAY I'd just sell it as is, however the person buying it is a person that is known to me and has bought parts from me before and I desire the best for him. gracias, Hari

The knob in the trunk should accomdate a socket, I believe it is a 17mm that will allow you to move the roof.
Additonally, maybe this will help: Removal 1 Remove sliding roof headlining. 2 Unscrew guide plate from transporting bridge and disengage. 3 Permit teleflex control to run in forward direction out of gear unit of sliding roof motor. 4 Remove cover in trunk on lefthand side. 5 Disconnect electric wires on sliding roof motor. 6 Unscrew fastening screws on mounting bracket. 7 Detach teleflex tube as well as extension tube at gear unit. 8 Remove mounting bracket with motor and gear unit.
