Belt tensioner self adjusting?

Does the belt tensioner adjust itself like the timing chain tensioner or do you have to go in there every x amount of miles to adjust it?
W124 or W201.

Drive belt(poly-V) tensioner is self-adjusting. Should last 2-3 belt changes!
