s500 bas lite & esp lite on @ times
Mercedes came up with this code
CODE TEXT C1201 A7/7s1 (BAS release switch) : Plausibility They claim the sensor in the brake booster is bad. I need a new brake booster is this true ? The book claims 2 hours is this something I could do myself or the it still have to go to benz to get computor reset ? Please help & email me @ mike122470@sbcglobal.net My cost on booster is 527.52 anyone can get better price ? |

There is at least one switch in the booster that isn't available seperately, I'd say they're right.
Probably need to disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder to remove the booster, so the brakes would need to be bled. Check with Fastlane for a price on the part. Gilly

Bas codes
here is a document from wis that gives a less expensive remedy for the repair, pay close attention to the last part it specifically mentions the Bas release switch.
