During my teenage years, I named my first Mercedes, a '61 Ponton 180b, 'Heidi'. I thought that was nice suitable name for a German car. Then I bought a $50 British Hillman Minx convertible that I named 'Reginald', though I prefered the name that I later found written in chalk under the 'bonnet', 'Churchill's Chariot'.
After that, I stopped naming my cars for awhile, until 3 years ago, when I inherited my '60 220S from an elderly lady friend, for whom I'd helped keep this car running. In her memory, I've given my Fintail the name my friend's two daughters used to describe her - 'Miss Daisy'. Happy Motoring, Mark |
