Rattle by glove compartment when starting cold
Have a 91 300E (88,000 miles) and for a while I have been noticing that when I start the car cold I hear a rattling sound by the glove compartment. The sound goes away after the car warms up and as I start to drive. I emptied the glove compartment but no results. I performed a search but didn't find any threads. Is there some type of motor behind the glove compartment that could be making the noise because of the cold weather.

Possibly the climate control air temp sampler motor. There's a small electric motor that pumps an air current up to the ceiling mounted cabin temperture sensor, to circulate air around the sensor for a better reading.
