cruise control

hello out there. my '96 C 280 has a cruise control issue, it is not working the fuse is good and when i go to set it nothing happens, no lights or anything. just wondering if anyone can give me a hand on this problem. thanks everyone and have some good holidays and new year.

Make sure that nothing is touching the gas peddle like floor mat.
