wiper Repair W126
Well today we had lots of freezing rain. I turned off the car with the wipers in intermittent mode. Came out 8 hours later and the car had 1/2 " ice all over. Went to start her up, and wipers came on immediately, but of course they did not move. After freeing the wipers, now only the driver's side wiper sweeps across the window. The passenger side seems to be slipping where the arm connects to the stud which rotates. Any ideas on how to repair the passenger side wiper?

Lift up the cover at the base and tighten the nut.

Ok,
if it's not the nut, you'll have to take out the wiper regulator (no big deal) and find that the linkage plastic pan snapped off the ball joint. What i did many times then, was to grind off the plastic pan bottom, place the linkage on the steel-ball joint and weld a washer on top of the joint; thus keeping the linkage in place. It works! No come backs! All the best, Dokta |
