Please help with alarm

Hello
I am the proud owner of a 87 560sl.Recently (after a snow storm)I cannot lock car without the alarm going off.Tried closing passenger, trunk always alarm turns on as soon as the key makes a right turn.Just noticed that if I gently turn the key half way, just enough to engage door lock, but not all the way to the right, the alarm will not sound. Please help
Regards Z

alarm

a temporary fix, is to go to the passenger side floor mat and disconnect the alarm module, will say becker, just unplug it. sounds like you may have other issues.

I had the same problem on my 500E.....the switch inside the (drivers) door is bad/goes bad (in my case)....so I just un-plugged it at the box like Ray says. :)

Thank you for the input

How to check which door switch is bad?I thought the disconnect is located behind the glove box,on this model?
Thanks again Z

I would agree with the switch theory. Same thing on my old girl, I unplugged it . Short fix because in next month, drivers side door lock failed completely and I had to replace. Does the key work smoothly and do the door locks function?

door locks

work fine, smooth. If I unplug the alarm, will the car start ok?

mine did (126 84 300SD), I have not missed it.
If you want you can take the door panel off and inspect the wires to the door switch, perhaps you have a short or disconnected wire. If you do this you will see that there is a lot to the system and all of the possible items that may be involved.
I ended up replacing my door handle, keyed to original key and still have not hooked alarm back up
Good Luck

Seems like everyone's advice for factory alarm problems is to unplug the two connectors to the brain under the passenger footwell. I have a new 93 190E and am slowly fixing all the little things that have been neglected for years by the previous owner. While replacing the cruise control amp module, I noticed that my alarm brain was unplugged. I plugged the two connectors back in and the ticking started and lights flashed. Does the brain itself ever go bad? I have searched the forum and can not find anything on this subject.

You can check the drivers door keyway, this was the problem on mine, I replaced it, however I have still not reconnected brain. I will someday.
