Question 722.3 trans weight?

I'm planning to pull the 722.3 trans from my '87 300E for an overhaul soon and wondering what I may need for the job, especially handling the trans.

Anyone know the (at least approximate) weight?

TIA,
Joe

It is not that heavy - I would say around 70lbs. I am not sure so don't try to do this by yourself. I replaced mine about 2 yrs. ago and was able to wrestle it by myself but I am also a pretty good size person. A spare floor jack with a piece of wood on the platform helps to lower and raise the trans. when you are working by yourself. I steadied the trans. with one hand while raising/lowering the jack with the other - all of this is, of course, while the car was on ramps. If you have the luxury of a lift then you will have to do something else - obviously with two people.
