I am going to need to do a brake job on the 83 300D, before I order the pads from parts shop do I need to replace the wear sensors? The lihgt on the dash just started to come on so, I checked the pad cond. an have some time. Thanks for any replies.

I believe the sensors have been eaten into because they sit inside the pads and when they are worn down to that point they feel the pain and alert you. I do not believe they are any good any more.

You should order the brake pad sensors when you order the pads, and order an extra one because they are fragile. I doubt that you will be able to use the old ones because if the brake pads are worn then the sensors are probably ground down enough so that they can not be used.

It will cost about $6 or $8 for all four sensors, but if you get to the pads quickly, you will probably only need to replace one or two of them. If they are not worn through, they are easily reusable. Even if you must replace all four, it is well worth the time and expense.

Thank's for the info. I figured that I would need to replace them, I just needed to hear it from someone who has been there.I have already ordered them from the parts shop, along with the pads. After reading your post, I think I may have ordered to many sensor's. The page in part's shop suggested that in most cases you need two per wheel, so I ordered eight. They are not expensive so if I have to many then I'm not out to much. Once again that for the reply.
