I have been having a problem with my sunroof. I can tilt it,but it will not pull open. I have adjusted the clutch as much as I think that I should,but still no go. I can hear the motor trying to pull it open. Sincerly,Steve

I had the same problem on a 78 280ce.I went in the trunk and opened th roof manually,then lubricated the tracks.Problem fixed!

I am assuming that you can not open completly but can tilt up and down fine. There is a possibility of broken "angle bracket", usually when it brakes you can not tilt fully but it is worth a shot. You have to take the sun roof out or at least take the headliner out and then try to open it while observing the roof from inside. Normally it will pull one side more than other the roof pannel will cock and wo'nt move and clutch on the motor, due to overload, will start slipping.
