The ECL Module is on the fritz. When I wiggle the fitting cable that connects to the ECL module, and the car is running, it will stall. And if I continue to wiggle the cable the car will start up again. Atlanta Classics quoted me $1100 for the part. What can I do? Is there a way to open it up and do something to it (for example, I fixed a relay on a BMW by opening it up and resaudering all the connections).

Sounds like you mean EZL which is the ignition control module. Maybe it's just a bad cable!(wiring bringing power to EZL) I have replaced more than one. If not try a used parts recycler. Yes they are very$$$$$. Only the 300CE & 300Sl from 1990-92(SL till 1993) Used this part.

Thanks Doc. Yeah this is a 92 CE. And yes I meant to type EZL. So can I buy this cable from the dealer (P/N?) or will I have to buy the whole module (say it ain't so!)?

thanks
