Idler arm repair
Is there a secret to removing the bolt that runs through the idler arm on my 89 300TE? It appears to be impossible to remove without removing the exaust pipe as the pipe runs directly above the bolt. Is there an easier way?

On some you can get away with knocking the bushings out of each end , giving the bolt room to be angled for removal..
You can also raise the engine slightly on that side |
REmove the lower motor bolts and jack the engine higher...
Plus you'll need to knock the lower one out and the upper one too. Michael |
Thanks to all, sounds easier than I thought.

Cut the bolt off with an abrasive cut off wheel. This will save you alot of pain.

I have thie same problem on my 300SE. The pipes are over the bolt. I'll have to try jacking up the engine.
