Engine quits when gently accelerating from a stop. It is then very difficult to start. Also it usually has momentary increases in rpm (700 to 1200) when idling. Mechanic has checked/replaced Fuel pump relay,Throttle linkage,Ignition coil,Crankshaft Position Sensor, Fuel filter, O2 sensor, fuel pressure, vacuum ok. The car runs fine if I remove the overvoltage protection relay thus killing the computer. I would like to check all the inputs to the computer. does anyone have a list of all the inputs and how I can simulate them? Is the only purpose of the computer to adjust mixture?

Somewhat common problem with air flow sensor. Try search on this item! Computer goes into fixed mode & car can die because of rapid imput changes.
