'93 190E transmission cable adjustment
I have a 190E 106000 miles and 26000 miles on a mercedes exchange transmission.
Sometimes it starts out in 2nd and drops back to 1st with some hesitation. The adjustment at the throttle body is useless -what should I try next? |
I believe your model is supposed to do that.
Depressing the throttle deeply enough will invoke a kick-dwon into first gear for a fast off the line start. Otherwise the trans starts in 2nd for economy reasons since the engine has enough torque. Haasman |
a '93 should have 1st-gear start IIRC. Maybe it's time for a fluid and filter change? Either that, or a vacuum issue perhaps; I'd double-check the vacuum line from the intake manifold to the tranny 1st. If that's OK, I'd check to see if the vacuum modulator were operating properly.
