w126 with NO lower front shock bolt??
My 89 300SE is completly re-assembled after the head gasket r & r.... and doing great. Many extra things got done "while I was in there".
My SHOCK QUESTION...... I was under the car cleaning things up and noticed there is no lower bolt, either side, on the shock bushing..... you know through the base of the shock like any other normal car. Is the MB set up differently? Whats keeping them from falling out? ....car was my father in-laws, and I have driven it a total of ...maybe 5 miles so far. I can just hear the parts warehouse calling me......new shocks f & r..... |
The lower end of the shock is held down by two bolts. Where you thought a bolt should be is actually the pivot for the lower bracket. I think they are 12mm 12 points.
