300SDL Pre glow system dies
Went out this morning and no glow plug light! Got into the owners manual and NO help. My 300D had a fuse that some times failed, I could not find one on this car. Does anyone have any experience with this particular problem? I could sure use some quick help short of the dealer. One good thing. I found out the defrosters don't work on the old Buick. Made for an interesting trip to work this morning.

fuse in the box up front
Guy,
There is a black box ( aren't they all..) in the driver's side front, near the a/c dryer. Look for the wire from the glow plugs going into it. You have to remove a cover and the fuse is inside. If I remember it, the fuse is a dogbone shaped piece of flat metal about 1" long by 1/4" , maybe 3/8" wide. The fuses are cheap, so try a new one. I had one with a hairline crack that would test ok continuity cold, then fail in startup mode. If you have a couple of glow plugs out the inside light will not light either. Chuck |
Thanks
Found the darn thing and fixed it, was just as you described.
