Hi to everyone out there.
i have a 92 230ce w124 iam thinking of changing the engine to a 2.5 16v cosworth engine thats if i find a reasonably priced one but may main concern is how much work would be required to do this conversion i.e wiring loom ,brain etc and also is the 2.5 a 4 cylinder engine or 6 cylinder. any feed back i get from this post will be greatly appreciated i look forward to all replies , regards Nick |
They never brought the 2.5 to the US. It is a modified version of the 2.3 16v 4 cylinder.
I would install a 24v 6 cylinder and do some work on that. You should be able to find all of the parts needed. |
I would love to put a 24v 3.0 but the price of fuel here in the u.k is simply to much it about £4.00 per gallon thats about $5.77 so a 4 cylincer engine would be less thirsty therefore making affordable to run. if you have any more ideas or thoughts on what is actually involved in a change over i would appreciate the information. thank-you Nick.
