280TE engine warmup vs 300TE/E320
What is different in the engine cooling system design to allow the newer 300TE & E320's etc. to warm up to normal operating system much faster then my 1980 280TE? All have the same temp thermostat

My guess: More sophisticated emissions control systems/computers coupled with an catylyst equipped exhuast system on the newer cars.
