Where's the ICV in my 420SEL?

I've been advised to remove and clean the ICV in my 1989 420SEL.

I went looking for it today and got stumped. The part I saw in the ICV search for parts, did not look like anything under the hood.

ANy help would be helpful.

Not sure but I read somewhere that it is underneath the air filter housing. (Idle Control Valve)

Icv

Looking at your engine from front, you will see a rubber tube coming from the driver side to the bottom of the cold start injector (CSI). The CSI also has a thin metal tube coming from the fuel distributor and a wire to the top. After the CSI, going towards the centre of the engine, a rubber tube connects to the ICV. Check the parts catalog at this site, and it will show an excellent image of the part. On the ICV, there is one plug with 2 wires. Also do a search, which should reveal the ICV location.

The tube on the left side with the white band is the ICV.

Found it and cleaned it!

I found the ICV early this morning and cleaned it good, I'll let it sit overnight and reinstall it in the morning.

Only time will tell if this is related to the stalling, but I thank all who answered my prayer of needing help.

I'll let ya'll know the progress,

Thanks
