Hello All,
I have a 1988 300E that dies at stop sometimes. After reading through the post here in this forum, I decided to replace the OVP and fuel pump relays. I ordered replacements from a reputable site on the web using their lookup feature to determine the correct parts. The pin layouts and part numbers are slightly different, although they look like they'll fit. (Haven't installed them yet.) Here's what I have: In car now: OVP 201.540.32.45 Just bought: OVP 201.540.37.45 In car now: FPR 002.545.52.05 Just bought: FPR 89.8182.000 Have the old parts been superseded by new numbers? Anybody know if these are the correct relays? VIN WDBEA30D5JA773337 Thanks!! Gebhard 1988 300E looking for a early '90s 300TE to buy in California |

Both are correct replacement items. List on FP relay is $125. OVPR lists for $70. Hope you did better than that!

Thanks for the quick reply. I installed the relays and the car hasn't died yet. I probably need to adjust the mixture again once I figure out how to get a proper duty cycle reading. It still only reads 00.0%. Maybe its too far out of adjustment to even return a reading.
BTW, I paid $137 for both relays plus shipping. Thanks again for the help. Gebhard 1988 300E |
