260e drive line problems

I have a 1987 260e, 200k on the clock. I need new tie rods for sure, they are twistable by hand. Now, when I turn, the tranny makes a noise like when you switch from one gear to another. P to D and so forth. Also, once P is engaged it rolls 6inch forward then you can rock it back and forth. It click when you rock it back and forth. Is it the flex discs, tranny mounts? what. I only have 500 since im a highschool kid so, what do I need? Thanks guys

anyone?

Don't know abou the tranny noise when turning, but the rolling in park is normal. Mercedes will roll a fair amount and click when pushed back and forth in park. The clicking your hear is the parking pawl running up against the window that it engages in inside the transmission.

Tie rod ends should be twistable by hand. What they shouldn't be is loose enough to feel play when you wrap your hand around them and have someone else turn the steering wheel back & forth. Same for the center link and idler arm.

The roll in park is normal, as Ali says.

Tranny noise when turning? Sure it's the trans?

My 260E has 218,000. Familiar territory.

what are signs of flex disks needing replaced? Also, i think Ill get the shocks done I need what all parts from fastlane? 2 Shock Absorbers, 2 strut assemblies and 2 strur mounts? What causes the jolt when shifting from P to R or P to D?

Have your flex discs checked. The front disk goes before the rear one does. While under the car, also check the transmission mount and engine mounts.
Rolling + or - 6 inches is totally normal.

Jolt from P to R???????
Are your parked on an incline? If so, don't worry.
1989 260E, 445,000K on the clock and counting.
