420SEL SRS Light Staying on....Grrrr

Hello All,
How do I fix this. I've got a 1990 420SEL with an SRS light that wont go off. The car has never been in an accident. What is causing the problem? I ran it by my machanic and the code says SRS control module "activated". He was stumped as to why this is happening. He tried resetting with no success. Any thoughts ideas or suggestion on how to trace down the problem and fix it would be awesome.
Thanks!!!

Do you happen to know what the trouble code number is? There are only ten but I haven't been able to find the SRS control module "activated" code. According to Alldata, they are:

1 - No fault stored in memory
2 - Control unit
3 - Ignition circuit, driver's airbag
4 - Ignition circuit, front passenger's airbag
5 - Driver's belt lock
6 - Front passenger's belt lock
7 - Resistor, front passengers seat, airbag
8 - low voltage
9 - Control lamp
10 - Control unit

If your mechanic is talking about either 2 or 10, a new module is required. I can post the diagnostic procedure for your particular code if your mechanic doesn't know how to proceed.

Has work been done on . . .

your car that might have accidently jarred loose one of the SRS connectors.

That happended to me and you can't reset it if the malfunction (loose connector) is present. Check my MENU#25 toward the bottom of the page. for details. MENU#11 has the SRS codes.
