'86 190d 2.5
Car starts sluggish, first start, for 10-15 seconds with some white smoke. I have replaced glow plugs,and purged the injectors with two cans of Molly diesel purge
 , car runs better, but the first start problem persists. Fuses OK and glow plug light acts normal. Weather here in Dallas is nice.

The next step is to check the timing chain for excessive stretch & then check the compression of the engine!
