91 300E - Do I Have Child Safety Locks?

Car is a 1991 300E. I've done a search and only found one thread that vaguely referenced slots near the latches on the rear doors. Supposedly you insert something in there, like your key, to activate the child safety feature. But I tried it and can't get anything to happen. Do I have to pry or something?

My manual says absolutely nothing about child safety locks.

Can anyone help? I seriously thought MBZ would have put this feature into their cars since they've always seemed to be pretty ahead of the pack in terms of safety features. Thanks in advance!

The security lever is in the rear doors above the main lock latch. Push it up to engage.
There should be a switch on the centre console next to the window switches. It has a icon of a 'child'. Slide it over to the right to engage the window lock.
There- child proof!

I'll have to look again, but I'm pretty sure I didn't see a lever - just a long slot. Maybe the lever is inside the slot? As I said, I inserted my key into it and "felt" around looking for some sort of lever or button to push and found nothing. I'll check again and report back.

Where in London are you? I visit my sister in Chelsea on average once or twice a year. She lives somewhere between Kings Rd. and South Ken tube stop. I will probably go again for a visit this summer.

The slot is pretty small and the switch is inside it. It should slide up.

I'm in Richmond in south west London- bloody expensive but nice feel to it, kinda like Chelsea :)

How's Texas? My American wife's parents want to move there from NJ. I dated a texan girl once- redhead and pretty mad- but fun;)
