1982 240d door locks-key won't work
 

I've been searching the site for help regarding my doorlocks not working when using the key but haven't been able to find what i'm looking for.If you can direct me I would appreciate it!What is happening is that the doors lock from the inside when pushing the button down-along with the fuel door.When trying to lock the door using the key,they won't lock.I've tried both doors to no avail.Any thoughts?

Does the door that the key is in lock. Or not. Are we talking the vacuum system (the other doors) or the physical lock.

I believe it is the physical lock in each front door.You can lock everything using both inside front door buttons-but when using the key in the front doors nothing happens.
