How do I apply Forever Black, does it require removal of all parts?
I found that using my nail brings back the black.... but leaves a very uneven shine.... Permenant marker! GENIUS!

Try posting this in the Detailing forum. They should have some ideas.

Forever Black comes in a bottle similar to liquid shoe polish... I use it for all of my plastic black areas that have faded..... bumpers, door handles, etc.
worth every penny...don't know if there are similar products out there or not... |

How long does the forever black last? It is a dye right?

it's a dye all right... get it on your paint or windows..and you will have to use a good polish to get it off.
They claim it will make it through 500 washes.... I suspect every year or so is more likely.... I don't have enough experience... but I really like the way it blackens stuff that has faded... nice on door handles... roof rails..window trim, bumpers, etc... |

Another vote here for permanent marker. I've used Avery Marks-A-Lot permanent marker on wiper arms before... works great!

Don't know if it works for wiper arms or not, but many reports have come in that spreading PEANUT BUTTER (no kidding!) on greyed-out door handles brings back the factory color and sheen. Have to leave it on for an hour or two.

Meguiar's makes a Trim Detailer that sells for about $3 a bottle. I've used it on bumper covers, outside door handles and the like and it works very well. Should last at least a couple of months, depending on your weather and washing conditions I suppose.
I haven't used Forever Black, but I believe that the original color on the wiper was very dark grey, not black. Does F-B change it to black or restore the dark grey? Got any before and after pictures? |

I found that good wax restores to original color and sheen. Dark gray on my 86 and much darker gray on my 92.

If you decide to repaint, try PJ1 Epoxy Gloss Black in spray can from local motorcycle dealer/supply. Watch out for the overspray, this stuff is tough! Takes awhile to dry but it will last and last. About 7-8 bucks a can.
