Can anyone tell me the what the headlight switch positions are ? I just now figured out that the off position is in the middle. I put in a battery today and the lights came on, I thought I had everything off.

Straight up is off, one click left (ccw) is left parking light on, two clicks left is right parking light on (I may have stated this bass ackwards, but you get the idea), which is a European standard for use when parking on the road. One click right (clockwise) both parking lights on, two clicks right, head lights on, and you can pull one click for fog lights and two clicks for a second aux circuit (driving lights?).

Pull two clicks for rear fog light - if so equipped. Otherwise it's redundant.

This is the kind of information that makes this group so great! I had to replace a headlight Friday night and while I was fiddling around I realized there was a set of lights that I didn't know how to turn on.

Thanks to all that contribute and help educate us newbies!

Rear fog lights?

For high speed backing in the fog? You guys are more talented than me. How do I know if I have these? are they externally mounted like the front ones?

Only European models have them installed. They are a very bright light inside the tail-light assy to make the rear of your car more visible in foggy or poor visibility situations.

Compare the brightness of the rear lights with the switch all the way in and all the way out. If no change, you do not have them.

On the W124 the rear foglight is actually a seperate light. The drivers side tailight has a bulb on the inside that comes on when the fog light is turned on by pulling the switch. It is only on one side of the car.

Yal, the light covers.

The red/amber/clear tail light lenses. The part of the tail lights you see. The clear plastic part of the headlight assembly, it goes around the glass headlight. And, the reflectors or powered lights? on the outsides of the fenders. All of the red or amber, or clear plastic pieces that have light bulbs behind them, and the non-powered reflectors that are red and amber. For the reflectors, I need the rubber base as well. New plastic pieces is what makes a restored car look remarkably new in my opinion. New Paint, tires, and lenses. Then I'll do the enterior. All while running down a plan to build some engine and put it in there.

Why would Yal have a catalogue...? I don't think he sells this stuff, if that's what you're after, 280c.

True...I don't sell this stuff but if you want OEM its been discussed that your dealer is the best place especially when it comes to the grey/red tailights. http://www.nopi.com has aftermkt stuff. For other things like euro headlights do a search on the forum and you'll get lots of advice and places to buy.
